Literature Text
I saw a face in the sand;
A breath away and worlds apart.
By time's steady hand
Buried in blades of wind.
I have been here before—
The shards of stars gathered too late.
I fall—and how do I breathe at all
When it is so cold I suffocate?
All here is earth, all here is frost;
The souls that linger admit they are lost.
In my pulse, I feel them weeping,
But they say they are only sleeping.
Will I—will I ever run away
To see something more than today?
The light is fading; rise of my fear:
Why angels must they suffer here?
I saw a face in the sand—
In a grey, desert land.
I know I should be running from
The pain that is soon to come.
What if tomorrow, I live?
What sins would You ever forgive?
Here I fall—how do I breathe in at all
When it is so cold against the coffin wall?

The Hope that Fails (Poem)
The Hope that Fails By J.C. Solis What I see now before my eyes The facts that I just can’t deny The loss of life and love and hope A loss that those, like I, can’t cope The Hope we clung onto for long The one we hoped would right our wrongs This Hope that we wanted for real Now gives way as our fate is sealed What I see now within this pain This agony that just won’t wain The Hope that Failed to save us all Our sins, to clean, a task too tall May we find peace before our doom As our sad fate now starts to loom…

Positive Feature Poem: Devotion
lovers laze within the dark their hearts ablaze with each others mark touched by love and visions of bliss plentiful as the stars above requited with a kiss standing tall for an adoring crowd they shall not fall their passion too loud they march on united in fate reservations are gone determination too great

Bone Festival*
savory pancakes and octopus balls serve as not entirely small consolation for whatever elation the dead wind takes out of our sails on hot august days halfway to the fall............
